I have always been a huge fan of Sangria. There is something about the wine mixed with fruit and liquor that is just so hard to beat. Personally, my favorite sangria is one with Red Wine. This EASY red wine sangria spritzer is so good!! It is my new favorite evening cocktail.
This cocktail was actually created by accident. My friend came over one time and asked if I had ever mixed red wine with Fresca. Of course, no I never had done that. But, it was so good! It tasted just like Sangria.
So, the other day I was grocery shopping and decided I wanted to make that drink again. But I literally could not find Fresca anywhere. One of the most infuriating things is going to the store and not being able to find what you need. What is even more infuriating? Going to three different stores. Yes, I went to three stores, and still there was no Fresca to be found! Please someone tell me did Fresca stop being a thing? I feel like I would have heard about that? But, after the third store I decided maybe I should look for a different soda. So, I found this San Pellegrino blood orange soda and decided to give it a try.
How I made the Red Wine Sangria Spritzer
So there really is not much to it. Simply slice up some oranges and place them in a glass. Then, pour in some of your blood orange soda, top it off with some red wine and alas the Red Wine Sangria Spritzer was born.
This really is such a good and easy cocktail to make. It is the perfect thing to enjoy by the pool or watching the sunset on your balcony. I like to enjoy this cocktail and my husband will enjoy the modified menu’s Old Fashioned made with TX Whiskey. Both of these drinks are the perfect way to end a long workday!
