An old fashioned is honestly such an easy and classic cocktail to make. This whiskey old fashioned recipe is absolutely delicious and probably takes less than three minutes to put together. It is made with TX Whiskey , If you are from Fort Worth then you know this brand and love it. If you have not tried it, you need to! It is truly the best.
I am not familiar with the history of an old fashioned but I know they have been around for a long time and they are served at pretty much every bar. The standard ingredients for a whiskey old fashioned recipe is some bitters, whiskey, sugar, and citrus. It is really as simple as that. Everyone makes them slightly different but there are only four ingredients. Honestly, there really is not too much variation.
I think what makes this recipe so good is the whiskey. Seriously, if you have not tried TX Whiskey you really need to. I might be a little biased, just because I love everything and anything having to do with Fort Worth. But, even people who are not from Fort Worth love this whiskey so I know that it is good. Right now, TX Whiskey is doing an experimental straight rye whiskey. I tested this recipe with this product as well and it was SO good! You really cannot go wrong with any of their liquor! Another great item is their bourbon. For Thanksgiving I will make a bourbon pecan pie and the bourbon, being so rich in flavor, is what makes this recipe so good.
But seriously, this old fashioned whiskey recipe will not disappoint. You probably already have all the ingredients you need. So, what is stopping you? I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think!
