This gluten friendly bourbon pecan pie is so good. I made it for our Friendsgiving this year and it was honestly my favorite part. Pecan pie is something that has never been my favorite dessert but I always have liked the idea of it. There is just something that is so festive about it and I must say this recipe is a game changer. It has been adapted from this NY Times Recipe to be gluten friendly and dairy free.
I say gluten friendly because I use bourbon in this recipe which has wheat in it. It has been debated whether or not liquor is gluten free. But according to this website and multiple others, the distillation process makes it gluten free. But, just in case, I am going to say gluten friendly and let you all make the decision for yourselves.
For the gluten free crust I use the Cup4cup Gluten-Free Pie Crust Mix. I was making my own crust but I discovered this mix and it is so delicious and makes it so easy. You just have to follow the instructions on the back of the package! For the bourbon I use TXBourbon. This is a company unique to Fort Worth and is our favorite whiskey and bourbon brand. The bourbon in the pie creates a unique spice flavor that is the perfect addition to this dessert. This gluten friendly bourbon pecan pie really will be the talk of your party. So, this is the perfect thing to bring and no one will ever know that it has not gluten or dairy. 🙂
