Easy Gluten Free Apple Crisp

This Apple Crisp is the perfect gluten free dessert for this season! It is so easy and the perfect treat fo a cool fall evening!

Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 3 Red apples sliced thin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp corn starch or arrowroot powder
  • ¼ cup turbinado sugar
  • ¼ cup water
Top Layer
  • 1 cup Pecans
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 3 cup cold cubed vegan butter I use country crock plant butter
  • tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp vegan butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Method
 

  1. Peel and slice apples into thin slices
  2. Put apple slices into a mixing bowl
  3. Add in dry filling ingredients and mix with apples
  4. Add in water and mix in with the apples
  5. Set apples aside
  6. Preheat oven to 350°
  7. Put all top layer ingredients into food processor
  8. Chop until well mixed
  9. Line a square baking dish with a light layer of vegan butter
  10. Pour in the apple filling
  11. Top the apple filling with the topping from the food processor
  12. Slice butter into thin slices and place on top and bake for 35 minutes
